SVGMotion is a local-first app: your work lives in your browser, and the AI features talk directly from your browser to the provider you choose. This page is the whole policy.
Your projects
Scenes, autosaves, and preferences are stored in your browser's IndexedDB / localStorage on your device. Nothing is uploaded. Deleting site data deletes your projects — use ☰ → Download .svg to keep a file copy.
AI keys (BYOK)
If you configure an AI provider (Ollama, OpenRouter, OpenAI, or a custom endpoint), the key is stored only in your browser and requests go straight from your browser to that provider — they never pass through our server. Your provider's own privacy policy applies to those calls.
Share links
Share links encode the entire scene into the URL itself (/play#s=…). The scene stays
in the hash — it is never sent to our server, which is why share links get a generic preview card.
The flip side: anyone with the link has the scene, and the URL may be saved by browsers, chat
apps, or proxies — don't embed anything private in a scene you share.
What we collect
Anonymous counts only — no cookies, no accounts, no fingerprinting, no IP storage:
- Pageviews — on the hosted site, Cloudflare Web Analytics counts visits
(cookieless, no fingerprinting). The self-hosted build counts just the path
(e.g.
/play), once per page load. - Error reports — if the app crashes, the error message, file/line, and path, so we can fix it.
The URL hash and query are never sent. Your scenes, prompts, keys, and identity are never collected. Honor your browser's DoNotTrack setting? We do — DNT disables all of it.
Third parties
Fonts and the optional local-AI engine are bundled with the app — loading the app makes no requests to third-party CDNs. The hosted site (svgmotion workers) is served by Cloudflare, whose Web Analytics beacon is the only third-party script we add — it is cookieless and collects no personal data. The only other outbound calls are the AI provider calls you configure.
